Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Supervising Health and Safety
 
Course Description
The course aims to provide an understanding of the main concepts of health and safety, to promote the benefits of health and safety culture, to clarify the roles and responsibilities of individuals, supervisors and management in health and safety, and to provide an understanding of health and safety control and improvement strategies available to supervisors.
 
Entry Requirements
Possession of a qualification in health and safety such as the Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Concept of health and safety.
  • Accidents in the workplace.
  • Ill health in the workplace.
  • Legal provisions.
  • Health and safety organisation and management.
  • Supervising health and safety.
 
How students will be taught
Students will experience a range of teaching methods including explanation/information from the tutor, group discussions, question and answer sessions, individual work and working with a partner or small group.
 
Assessment
2 hour examination set by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

£220 per person plus CIEH fees (currently £50 per person) plus VAT

In house course for up to 20 people £1,700 plus CIEH fees (currently £50 per person) plus VAT

 
Other Information
